The cost of participating in the program for 2018 is $225 to play on a basic Pony League team. These teams play 12 PONY league games, Steinhaus Tournament and an optional end of season tournament. At the coach and parents' discretion, additional tournaments may be added (and are highly encouraged). The cost of these additional tournaments is the responsibility of the parents.

At each level (U10, U12, and U14), we will also form a two Elite teams (Gold and Brown) that will play 12 PONY league games, participate in 2 tournaments sometime during and/or after the season and receive an Invitation to play in the Steinhaus Tournament. The cost of playing on the Gold and Brown Teams is $300. Inclusion on one of these more competitive teams is by invitation only based on player evaluation scores and previous season performance (if available).

A $25.00 family discount is extended to families with more than one player participating in the program. The registration fees are due the second week of April and can be mailed in or you can pay on-line with a credit or debit card.

Divisions

Age divisions are 9-10-year-olds, 11-12-year-olds, and 13-14-year-olds. The age is determined by the player's age as of April 30th of the current season year. This age is set by the PONY sanctioning organization.

Coaches Selection

Volunteer coaches are selected per review of candidates by the Holt Jr Rams Baseball Board of Directors. Anyone interested in coaching should note such on the Player Registration form. Coaches are expected to sign a "Coach's Creed" that outlines expectations of the organization. Perspective coaches need to attend Holt Jr Rams Baseball coaching fundamentals and team development training. A background check is conducted on all coaches and assistant coaches for the safety of our children.

League Play

Holt Junior Rams Baseball teams play a 12 game Mid-Michigan Pony League season, with approximately six (6) games in Holt and six (6) games in neighboring Mid-Michigan communities. Games usually have a 6:30 p.m. start time with a 1 hour and 45-minute time limit. Most games are scheduled on Monday-Thursday evenings, but if there are field limitations some Friday games may result.

Uniforms & Equipment

Players are provided a uniform that includes a uniform shirt, pants, hat, socks and belt. At the conclusion of the season, the belt must be returned to the Holt Junior Rams Baseball program for use in future years. Holt Junior Rams Baseball will provide baseballs, bats, helmets, and catcher's equipment for use during the season (however players are encouraged to purchase and wear their own helmets for proper fit and personal hygiene purposes.)
